Empower the Diverse and Vibrant Student Community
The Student Union at Bournemouth University (SUBU) supports 17,000+ students and strives to enrich their student experience. As a part of the in-house design team, I was responsible for designing logos for clubs and societies, posters, signage, and banners, aligning with the brand guidelines.
My role was to ensure that all promotional materials were lively and inclusive to anyone on campus, while meeting the internal clients’ expectations with tight deadlines. Since Bournemouth University (BU) values students with different backgrounds, regardless of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, belief, or gender, I paid particular attention to accessibility by selecting legible typefaces and readable font sizes, e.g. not using script fonts that can be difficult to read for students who read English as a second language. In addition, when choosing photos, I made sure not to favour any one race, so that students from all backgrounds would feel included and represented.
